The cliché Picturesque is saturated and over used with out a deep consideration for its core. With in this series I try to break away from the typical, stripping it of its expected features to focus on its true characteristics.

I draw attention to form and colour, both of the natural and the man made with inspiration taken from Mondrian, Bonham and with appropriation of subject matter from VanDerBeeks’ still life works. This concept is placed into a reinterpreted space simulating the foreground, horizon line and back light of the cliché picturesque.
